On January 25, 2025, two masked men climbed through a kitchen window in North Brookside, Dearborn Heights, Michigan. They pistol-whipped the roommate, filled a bag with a studio mic and a bottle of Don Julio, and made the mistake of pointing a gun at the bedroom door.
Behind that door was Benjamin Nevers — 24, half-asleep, cocked pistol in hand, a female behind him. The intruder shot first. Benjamin's foot shattered on the impact. He fired back twice. One round found the intruder's leg. The intruder ran.
Benjamin took a second round to the back. The female was hit too — a bullet still lives near her kidney, doctors said it was too dangerous to remove. Everyone survived. Phillip Price (21) was later arrested and charged on 21 counts, including two counts of assault with intent to murder. A second suspect is still being sought.
